Smoking RelatedThe Archive holds a number of items that are smoking related, such as cigarette and cigar boxes, match boxes, and tobacco and snuff related items. Pipe Stoppers (Tampers): The archive holds very few actual stoppers, all dating from the twentieth century or later. It does, however, hold several notes and articles on stoppers that may be of use to researchers. For the most recent study and best corpus of forms see Leslie’s 2012 book (not available at the archive). We're working on this page - so please bear with us while we pull the information together.
